Our training materials can be used to introduce a broad range of audiences and backgrounds to important concepts related to gender and health. Each training course focuses on one of five themes that complement the CORE Gender 101 agenda: Gender Integration, HIV + Sexuality, Safe Motherhood, Gender-Based Violence, and Constructive Male Engagement. The courses are designed to meet the geographic and technical needs of cooperating agencies, USAID Missions, and specific projects. Materials range from basics such as using a shared gender vocabulary and programmatic guidance, to user guides on how to conduct a gender analysis, to exercises for gender trainings. The trainings are geared to be used by anyone and with any audience, even those learning about gender for the first time!
Our popular Gender Integration Continuum framework is an important tool to assess how programs do (or do not) address gender and move them toward more gender-transformative actions. An updated User’s Guide for facilitating training on use of the continuum is available, along with other materials.

The toolkit provides helpful guidance, tips, and resources on where to start and how to program effectively in development and humanitarian contexts. A Girl’s Guide to Puberty and Periods, a book and short video series, was produced by adolescent health experts at Columbia University in collaboration with Grow & Know. The series provides girls with practical advice, answers to common questions, and real puberty stories from girls across the USA. Tackling everything from body odor to big feelings to periods, these resources are designed for girls ages 9-14 for factual guidance on the physical and emotional changes of puberty.
The 2X Fund Manager Training is a free, beginner-friendly program developed for investment professionals and fund managers to expand their capabilities on gender-lens investing using the 2X criteria. The training is comprised of three sessions and gives participants the options to complete it on their own (self-paced) or use the material to train others (facilitator). The training is available in English and French, with Spanish coming soon.
As the Sustainable Development Goals target of zero new cases of female genital mutilation by 2030 approaches, a focus on the utility of research for programming, policy development, and resource allocation is critical. This research agenda outlines evidence gaps and research priorities that must be addressed over the next five years, and provides approaches to enable uptake and effective use of the evidence generated.
