This manual is designed to help non-gender specialists who work for DFID to integrate gender equality and women’s rights in all areas of DFID’s work. It provides guidelines for gender mainstreaming activities that are common to all development projects and includes tools such as checklists. Though the manual refers to DFID’s policy commitments, its Gender Equality Framework and project development processes, it may be useful for staff from other organizations or government offices.
