A rapid assessment and response (RAR) is a method for quickly assessing complex health issues, analyzing the data collected and responding with appropriate interventions. This document provides guidelines for an RAR for men who have sex with men, focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention. It describes a series of practical activities for learning about the circumstances, experiences and needs of men who have sex with men in a variety of settings.
