This packet consists of three training modules on why and how to carry out gender mainstreaming in health. Designed for public health professionals in international, national or community-based institutions, it is based on the WHO resource, Gender mainstreaming for health managers: A practical approach. The packet includes the following modules: Understanding Gender Concepts; Understanding and Applying Gender Analysis; and Integrating Gender in our Programs, Projects and Policies. Participants practice conducting gender analyses to determine where and why gender inequalities occur and learn how to develop appropriate interventions. At the end of the third module, participants develop a plan for integrating gender issues into their work settings. The packet includes facilitator instructions, handouts and tools.
