This is a suggested agenda for a two-day workshop that integrates core gender and gender analysis concepts and tools with discussions on constructive men’s engagement in reproductive health (RH) programs. Developed by the Interagency Gender Working Group (IGWG) and most recently revised in 2010, the workshop provides an in-depth exploration of men’s roles in family planning, sexuality, STIs, safe motherhood and violence against women. It allows participants to analyze the social and health impacts of men’s roles in RH and understand men’s and women’s different RH experiences and perspectives.
Before planning or conducting this workshop, users should read the instructions and information in the IGWG Training User’s Guide, found here on the IGWG website. To find and download instructions for conducting each of the activities noted in the agenda, see the links in the training menu on the left side of the IGWG website’s training page.
