A recent pilot project undertaken by the WRC and CARE in Ecuador shows that giving women cash and vouchers as part of a program to prevent and respond to GBV can be highly effective and yield positive impacts in the lives of GBV survivors and individuals at risk of GBV. This brief highlights the importance of better understanding how CVA can help prevent, mitigate, and respond to GBV and maintains that building evidence on utilizing cash transfers is much needed in order to strengthen the community of practice on response and prevention.
