Humanitarian assistance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has been inadequate for many years, with a widening gap between assistance coverage and growing needs. Due to these limited resources, the WFP has only been able to reach one third of the acutely food insecure in Eastern DRC, disproportionately impacting women and girls because of their responsibilities in caring for and feeding their households.
