Inadequate care systems are one of the biggest roadblocks to improving gender gaps in labor markets across the world, and better functioning care systems that recognize, reduce, and redistribute unpaid care work are critical to closing gender gaps. In this article, members of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council for the Future of the Care Economy share their vision for how investment in the care economy can support more gender inclusive economies and societies.

This study aims to understand women’s and providers’ preferences for developing a feasible intervention to address perinatal depression (PND) and support engagement in HIV care among women living with PND and HIV. The study looks at how services—including home visits, appointment reminders, group counselling, and peer support—are effective in improving long-term HIV outcomes in women with PND.

Understanding the complexities around how girls and young women exercise their power within or outside marriage is essential to better understand how to support girls and young women. This report aims to do just that and to more fully recognize the experiences and needs of girls and young women who are already married. This report highlights the struggles, including a high risk of violence and negative traditional gender roles, these girls and young women are facing while attempting to find a better situation for themselves, and offers recommendations for policy and programming.

This blog asserts that in order to end school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV), advocates must dismantle the culture of violence and raise girls and boys to be equal so classrooms can be safe environments for children to learn and thrive. Additionally, those working in SRGBV prevention should operate within existing legal frameworks, center survivors, and address the toxic notions of masculinity and power.

Season 6 of the Inside the FP Story podcast will discuss the fundamentals of sexual and reproductive health—going beyond the sometimes-narrow definition of "family planning" to discuss issues like HIV, menstrual health, and self-care. The season features practical examples and experiences from community members, health providers, and program implementers from diverse settings to put research and programs into context.

The first installment of the “IGWG Members Take the Mic” blog series, “Infertility Matters: Embracing the Gendered Spectrum of Stigma, Needs, and Experiences in Sub-Saharan Africa,” is now available! This blog shares findings and insights from a literature review—conducted by the Agency for All project—that aimed to explore myths and misperceptions, social consequences, and crosscutting factors associated with reproductive agency and infertility, as well as to identify promising, infertility-related social and behavior change and gender transformative programs from across sub-Saharan Africa and globally.
