Our training materials can be used to introduce a broad range of audiences and backgrounds to important concepts related to gender and health. Each training course focuses on one of five themes that complement the CORE Gender 101 agenda: Gender Integration, HIV + Sexuality, Safe Motherhood, Gender-Based Violence, and Constructive Male Engagement. The courses are designed to meet the geographic and technical needs of cooperating agencies, USAID Missions, and specific projects. Materials range from basics such as using a shared gender vocabulary and programmatic guidance, to user guides on how to conduct a gender analysis, to exercises for gender trainings. The trainings are geared to be used by anyone and with any audience, even those learning about gender for the first time!
Our popular Gender Integration Continuum framework is an important tool to assess how programs do (or do not) address gender and move them toward more gender-transformative actions. An updated User’s Guide for facilitating training on use of the continuum is available, along with other materials.
This document provides a snapshot of the extent to which, and in what ways, women and women’s rights organizations have led and participated meaningfully in the COVID-19 response and recovery in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. This research was conducted through consultation with key actors utilizing the Framework for Measuring Women’s Leadership and Meaningful Participation in COVID-19 Responses.
This analysis brings together, for the first time, comparative data from across the Americas on the state of Afrodescendant women’s maternal health. The document provides action-oriented recommendations to reduce maternal mortality and ensure the highest attainable standard of maternal health for girls and women of African descent in the Americas in the short and medium terms.

Women aged 50 years and over account for over a quarter of the world’s female population, yet they are almost entirely invisible in debates on gender equality globally—including those related to gender and health. This brief argues that progress towards universal health coverage (UHC) can contribute to a more gender equal world. However, this will only happen if governments invest in gender transformative approaches to UHC that meet the needs and uphold the rights of women and girls of all ages, including older women.
This report explores how, when men are affected by armed violence, women and girls are also indirectly or directly victimized. The report highlights the specific protection risks affecting adolescent boys and men and how this affects their economic and psychological wellbeing. It reflects on the intersectionality of their struggles and the effects that this has on girls and women, as well as the society at large.
The aim of this guide is to catalyze higher impact through intentional gender-transformative collective action. Through a series of steps, the guide supports civil service organizations in strengthening their gender-transformative skills, knowledge, and leadership to systematically analyze and address the root causes of gender inequality, both at the individual and a systems level.
