Conflict and fragility can increase women and girls’ exposure to gender-based violence (GBV) and make it more difficult for them to access social services, including sexual and reproductive health services. This evaluation uses several elements to assess the Bank Group’s country support for women and girls’ economic empowerment and GBV prevention and response.

This report shares highlights from Coligação para Eliminação dos Casamentos Prematuros (CECAP, the Girls Not Brides National Partnership to End Child Marriage in Mozambique), a civil society organization collective invested in strengthening their gender-transformative skills, knowledge, and leadership to systematically analyze and address the root causes of gender inequality at the individual and systems levels. This report includes a review of the evidence and data, the partnership's gender-transformative ranking, and a road map of priorities for collective action to advance girls' rights.

Gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) is a comprehensive framework that aims to address the inequalities and barriers faced by individuals based on their gender and other social identities, and how these identities intersect to create experiences of vulnerabilities and marginalization. This trending topic—hosted on the Compass website in French—explores the various aspects of GESI and the role that it plays in the world of social and behavior change (SBC), including resources providing insight into how to integrate GESI into the design and implementation of SBC programs.

This blog argues that acts of discrimination are institutionalized in systems and decision-making processes that exclude underrepresented groups at the intersection of gender, sexuality, and disability. In order to realize the right to health for these groups, it is necessary to identify and eliminate inequities in accessing health information and services.
