This document describes the requirements for country strategies related to the Global Health Initiative’s women, girls and gender equality principle. It describes the key program elements for promoting gender equity and equality, such as engaging men and boys, empowering adolescent and pre-adolescent girls, and addressing gender-based violence, and provides programming options for carrying out these elements. It also includes links to six additional guidance documents, including the USAID Guide to Gender Integration and Analysis.
