This document provides guidance for integrating gender into all aspects of World Food Programme (WFP) HIV/AIDS programs, focusing on the core areas of WFP interventions: prevention, education and awareness; mitigation; and support to care and treatment programmes. It provides an overview of gender issues related to HIV/AIDS programs and the importance of addressing them, guidelines and recommended actions for addressing gender issues, and examples of WFP projects that are mainstreaming gender in HIV/AIDS programs. It is intended for staff of World Food Programme country offices.
