This is a facilitator guide and related resources for an introductory workshop on integraing gender into Safe Motherhood programs, intended for Safe Motherhood program staff. Workshop topics include: gender and related concepts; key gender-related barriers to safe motherhood; the gender integration continuum; framework for gender analysis and integration for safe motherhood programs; At the end of the workshop, participants apply gender analysis and integration to safe motherhood case studies; and create action plans for integrating gender into their  projects.
