The IGWG organizes regular in-person and virtual events where members from around the world can learn from and connect with each other. These events may be thematic, such as a focus on recent research in the GBV field, or dedicated to capacity strengthening, such as integrating participatory and inclusive evaluation and learning methods in gender transformative global health programming. Our annual IGWG Plenary creates space for members to meet in person and provide feedback on the network as a whole each year.

"Vision, Innovation, and Action to Address Child Marriage" covered overview of USAID’s work on child marriage from Syria to India, described strategies to address early marriage like girls' education and community mobilization and featured experts, researchers, and people working with young women and married girls in the field in countries like Ethiopia and Egypt.
Presenter described their mid-cycle results of ongoing research on gender norms and child marriage. While the data are still preliminary, these projects presented findings from formative research, intervention design, implementation, impact results (as available), and plans for scale up.
This GBV event featured presentations from ICRW, Population Council, and Stony Brook University. Topics covered included: connections between legal age of marriage and violence, and IPV among young women in Kenya and Ethiopia.
