The IGWG organizes regular in-person and virtual events where members from around the world can learn from and connect with each other. These events may be thematic, such as a focus on recent research in the GBV field, or dedicated to capacity strengthening, such as integrating participatory and inclusive evaluation and learning methods in gender transformative global health programming. Our annual IGWG Plenary creates space for members to meet in person and provide feedback on the network as a whole each year.

This event highlighted the Tathmini GBV project which used a randomized control design to assess delivery and use of gender-based violence health services and interviewed program participants to increase access to gender-based violence services.
This event examined the role of the public sector responses to gender-based violence; presentations included police addressing gender-based violence in Zambia and one-stop health centers in Mozambique.
The first event in a year-long series on Gender-Based Violence and Youth that explored the prevalence of childhood violence, impacts on reproductive health and well-being, and promising approaches for a way forward.

The third event in our year-long series focused on parenting programs as an early approach to preventing GBV throughout the lifecycle, starting during childhood. Presentations highlighted ongoing projects in South Africa and Uganda.
This was the fourth and final event of the GBV and Youth series, on October 19, 2016 led by the GBV Taskforce. Presenters included Ravi Verma, Regional Director of Asia, ICRW provided an update on the Gender Equity Movement in Schools (GEMS) project regarding the implementation and evidence gathering around GEMS in Bangladesh, Vietnam and India.
