Gender-based violence is an epidemic affecting 1 in 3 women worldwide, according to the World Health Organization.
That number, in the language of finance, is material. Like climate change, gender-based violence presents a ubiquitous risk to any industry, company or geographic market. We can influence how to assess that risk, which data investors see as valuable, and how investors and analysts respond in their analyses, structures and processes.
Criterion Institute has named gender-based violence as one of our key areas of focus over the next few years and have identified 5 strategies to engage capital markets as one of many approaches necessary to tackle this critical issue.
We invite you to join us for a two-day workshop as we tailor our TOOLKIT for Finance as a Strategy for Social Change to center on gender-based violence. Through this workshop, we seek to deepen the ability of gender experts and activists to use finance as a social change strategy. Key insights from the TOOLKIT design sessions will inform Criterion’s gender-based violence programming and the development of tools and other resources for dissemination.
Please join us in Washington, DC January 22-23, 2018 as we share knowledge, explore strategies and identify points of collaboration as we move toward action.
This workshop takes place over two days:
Monday, January 22nd, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 23rd, 9:00am-4:00 p.m
